With the torrential rainfall much of the UK is experiencing at the moment, Property Insurance claims departments will be pushed to the limit, however you can and should start the repair & recovery process as soon as you can.
We are seeing lots of localised flooding and landslips happening leading to substantial claims on Property Insurance in areas like Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire, and with around 100 current flood warnings around the UK the team here at Butler Evans would like to offer advice on what you can do in the event of an incident and how to check you are correctly insured before an event happens to your property.
“You do not have to have Property Insurance with Butler Evans to use our dedicated property claims services through independent Claims Assessors & Repair network Aspray.”

Checking you’re correctly insured, just in case:-
For this you will need to check your Insurance Policy Schedule & Statement of Fact and you’re looking for the “Insured Perils”. The main ones to look for with the current weather events are Storm & Flood. Another really important peril that all to often goes uninsured, largely because it is an optional cover associated with an increased premium, is Subsidence, Heave & Landslip.
Property owners should remember that their Sums Insured must be insured correctly based on the Reinstatement Cost of the building, not the market value. If you need any help assessing your correct Sum Insured, we offer all our Property Insurance customers a Reinstatement Cost Valuation to ensure you are properly insured.
